At the foot of the western rampart of the medieval town of Boersch lies an unexpected garden, nestling between the imposing wall built around 1330 from the pudding rock of Mont Sainte-Odile and the ceaseless murmur of a winding stream, which gives gentle life to the ancient moat. Crossing a discreet wooden bridge lined with bamboo, visitors enter a peaceful clearing where a female figure sculpted in immaculate marble stands. Surrounding her are elements imbued with symbolism: a block of pudding over 220 million years old, an unfinished column, and a baroque motif evoking an ear attentive to the sounds that resonate in this place.
Perhaps you'll come across Christophe Formery and Joëlle Kuhne, who will guide the curious on a walk punctuated by rock'n'roll musical improvisations to the heart of the orchard. Here, botany enthusiasts can chat with Irène Schnabel about her perennial plants, while the most imaginative walkers will stop in front of strange sculptures, like totem poles from another time or another continent, rooted here as if by magic.
Marie Wacker, from the Tohu-Bohu theatre, will lend her voice to the tales the trees have whispered in her ear, telling visitors the secrets and legends of a garden full of stories.
