The theatre company ‘Le Nez au Milieu du Village’ presents:
We used to watch the other parents: when they came to collect their children from school, they would hold their hands as they walked up the street. Not our mother. Yet we were never lacking in attention or love at home. But still: why did she always avoid holding our hands?
We were left without an answer until the evening of her life. There, in that living room devoid of memories, we buried our faces in our mother’s hands. And it was in the hollows of her palms, in the creases that held our tears, that we listened to the story of her body – a story she had always wanted to spare us.
