The Rosenwiller Jewish cemetery, established in 1349, is one of the largest and best preserved in Alsace. With around 6,000 graves, it is an important place of memory and history for the local Jewish community. On this guided tour, you'll discover the special features of the site, the symbolism of the tombs and the history of the Jewish community in Rosenwiller. Discover this place steeped in history and culture.
The meeting point is at the Caroline and Benjamin Bloch space, located at 69, route de Grendelbruch. This space, which corresponds to the former entrance to the cemetery (not the current entrance), was created in memory of Caroline and Benjamin Bloch, the last guardians of the site. It is a small roadside square, with explanatory panels recounting the history of the site.
Registration required at the Tourist Office.
Bring shoes suitable for walking and comfortable clothing
