The ascent of Mount Sainte-Odile

Since 1935, the Montée du Mont Sainte-Odile, organised by the Association Sportive des Cheminots de Strasbourg, has been an unmissable event in Alsatian athletics. The race starts in Klingenthal, in front of the Hôtel des Vosges, on 11 November after a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the Great War. The official route covers 8.550 km with an elevation gain of 475 m, through an autumnal forest in the heart of the mountain. This event brings together competitive and amateur walkers, both French and foreign (particularly German), and ends in front of the porch of the Mont Sainte-Odile Convent.
With two separate starts:
- 9:30 a.m.: athletic walk
- 9:31 a.m.: Nordic walk
