Eine serbische Blaskapelle, ein rumänisches Streichorchester, ein Nachtclub in Griechenland in den 70er Jahren? Istrati ist ein bisschen von all dem, gekonnt vermischt mit dem Klang von mehrstimmigem Gesang, Geige, Akkordeon, Gitarre, Trompete, Tuba und Schlagzeug! Diese fünf Musiker*innen erkunden mit ihren vielfältigen Einflüssen, was die Musik des Balkans sein kann, deren Wurzeln in jahrtausendealten Festen liegen und deren Höhepunkte in einer unerwarteten und mitreißenden Fusion liegen. Ganz wie sein namensgebender Schriftsteller ist Istrati ein abenteuerlustiges und leidenschaftliches Projekt, das keine Grenzen scheut!
