Das zwischen dem 10. und 13. Jahrhundert erbaute und vom Vogesenwald umgebene Schloss Guirbaden liegt 1 km vom Dorf Mollkirch entfernt auf den Hügeln oberhalb des Bruche-Tals. Es ist das flächenmäßig größte Schloss im Elsass (2 Hektar) und sicherlich auch eines der ältesten.
Der im April 2015 gegründete Verein „Sauver le Guirbaden“ bietet ein reichhaltiges Programm zu den Europäischen Tagen des Kulturerbes:
- Mittelalterliches Lager mit Ritterkostümierung um 11 Uhr, 13 Uhr und 15 Uhr,
- Vorführung mittelalterlicher Kalligraphie
- Die Kunst des Bortenwebens
- Ausstellung von Bauwerkzeugen, Fotos und alten Lithografien
- Für Kinder: Schnitzeljagd durch das Schloss und weitere Holzspiele wie Dosenwerfen, Armbrustschießen, Kegeln und das Windrad. (Spielpass für 5 €)
Ein mittelalterliches Lager wird aufgebaut, um Sie auf eine Zeitreise mitzunehmen: Zelte, Waffen und Schilde, Vorführung der Herstellung eines Kettenhemds, Sitzgelegenheiten und Betten, Geschirr … mit ehrenamtlichen Helfern in mittelalterlichen Kostümen.
Bringt Wanderschuhe mit und haltet die Augen offen!
Vor Ort werden kleine mittelalterliche Snacks angeboten.
